  1. My entry for the GREE x Pixiv competition… she’s a… sea-witch? Sea-bitch? I tried to keep the design organic. At some point I wondered whether making line-art was counter-productive, but it was the best decision I ever made for this pic.   9. Some talk on Twitter prompted me to redraw an old pic of mine… in 2006 I was invited to make a manga pitch to Tokyopop and this was one of the character designs from the pitch. In the end I started my first year of uni and didn’t make the pitch at all, though tbh I didn’t have a mangaka mindset at all, never mind that my art was pretty rubbish. I’m sure it wouldn’t have been a very good pitch… though sometimes I wonder ‘what if’ hahah I never liked showing my development artwise because I never felt that I was where I should be and that made me very depressed. Only recently I’ve been able to accept my slow progress and lack of change in artistic style, it’s enough for me that my current art has a purpose to fill.
